Server Rules

Welcome to Crateon's Community. This is a place for gaming, creativity, development and conversation. These rules help keep it welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

Before participating

Every member is expected to understand and follow these five rules. They apply across text channels, voice channels, direct interactions related to the community and any other server spaces.

The Five Rules

01

Be Respectful

Treat all members fairly, regardless of their opinions, experience, interests or background. Everyone should feel comfortable participating without being harassed or deliberately targeted.

What this means

  • No bullying, harassment or targeted abuse.
  • No hateful conduct or discriminatory slurs.
  • No threats, intimidation or repeated unwanted contact.
  • Do not deliberately humiliate or provoke other members.
  • Respect boundaries when someone asks you to stop.

Friendly jokes and disagreements are fine when everyone involved is comfortable. Claiming something was a joke does not excuse persistent harassment or behaviour intended to hurt someone.

You can disagree with an opinion without attacking the person expressing it.

02

No Spam or Unauthorised Advertising

Keep conversations readable and give everyone a fair opportunity to participate. Do not use the server to flood chats or promote content without permission.

Spam includes

  • Sending repeated messages to flood a channel.
  • Posting excessive emojis, reactions or meaningless content.
  • Repeatedly tagging members or abusing @everyone and @here.
  • Copying and pasting the same message across channels.
  • Disrupting voice chats by repeatedly joining and leaving.

Advertising includes

  • Promoting other Discord servers without staff permission.
  • Posting unsolicited links to social media, videos or products.
  • Sending unsolicited promotional direct messages to members.
  • Using the community primarily to attract people to another service.

If you want to advertise a project, arrange a partnership or promote your own community, ask a moderator first. Sharing a genuinely relevant link as part of a normal conversation is not automatically considered advertising.

03

Keep It Appropriate

Content and behaviour must be suitable for the community's intended audience. Gaming, horror and creative projects may involve mature themes, but that does not make every type of content acceptable.

Prohibited content

  • NSFW content, pornography or sexually explicit material.
  • Sexual exploitation or content involving the abuse of minors.
  • Excessively graphic or disturbing material intended to shock members.
  • Scams, phishing links or fraudulent giveaways.
  • Malware, harmful downloads or files designed to compromise devices.
  • Content that violates Discord's policies or applicable law.

Do not disguise prohibited content behind misleading links, images, spoilers or file names. Do not pressure other members into viewing material they do not want to see.

If you discover suspicious content, avoid opening or downloading it and report it to the moderation team.

04

Respect Privacy and Identity

Every member has the right to privacy and should be able to trust that their personal information will not be exposed or misused.

Privacy violations include

  • Sharing someone's home address, phone number or private account details.
  • Doxxing, stalking or threatening to expose personal information.
  • Sharing private messages, personal images or recordings without appropriate permission.
  • Attempting to obtain passwords, login codes or other confidential information.

Impersonation and deception

  • Do not pretend to be Crateon or a member of the staff team.
  • Do not impersonate other members or official organisations to mislead people.
  • Do not use fake giveaways, fraudulent offers or deceptive claims to exploit members.
  • Do not create alternate accounts to evade moderation or bans.

This rule applies even if information is available elsewhere online. Public availability does not give you permission to use it to harass, threaten or target another member.

Report suspicious accounts and privacy concerns to staff rather than attempting to confront or expose the person yourself.

05

Follow Staff Instructions and Discord's Rules

Moderators and administrators help maintain the community. Members are expected to follow reasonable moderation instructions and comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Staff expectations

  • Follow reasonable instructions given by moderators.
  • Do not deliberately disrupt moderation or interfere with staff duties.
  • Do not encourage others to break the rules.
  • Do not evade timeouts, kicks or bans using alternate accounts.
  • Do not exploit loopholes to continue prohibited behaviour.

Moderation and appeals

Depending on the seriousness of an incident, staff may issue a warning, remove content, apply a timeout, kick a member or issue a ban. Serious misconduct may result in immediate action without a prior warning.

If you believe a moderation decision was unfair, contact the appropriate staff member calmly and explain your concerns. Do not turn the appeal into a public argument or harass staff over the decision.

Staff may also address disruptive behaviour that is not explicitly described in these rules when necessary to protect the community. This does not exempt staff from acting fairly and consistently.
